Boca Raton Quality Water Heater
There are two styles of water heaters that you can have in your home. The first is a tank-style heater, which is more of a traditional option. This system uses a large cylindrical tank to store and heat water so that it’s ready when needed. The second option is the tankless water heater. This unit doesn’t preheat water like the tank-style heater. Instead, it heats water that flows through it as you turn on your hot water faucet. The advantage of this type is that you get continuous hot water.

Water heaters can experience various problems over their lifetimes. One particularly alarming issue is rust in the water. This can start as a red to brown discoloration. If you look closely, you’ll see rust flecks in the water.
This is typically the result of rust inside your tank. It’s highly advisable to flush your tank and test the water again. If the rust is from the anode rod, you can easily go back to using your appliance. However, if the rust persists after the flushing service, then you’re going to need a new heater, as the inside of the tank is full of corrosion. You may need a new water heater installation in this case.
If you turn on the hot water faucet and get cold water, there’s a problem with your appliance’s internal heating system. Older gas-powered water heaters have a pilot light that must remain lit around the clock. Unfortunately, if the pilot light gets blown out, your heater won’t be able to warm up the water in its tank. Fortunately, this is an easy fix by simply relighting the flame.
For a malfunctioning electric water heater, the internal heating elements are likely faulty. Typically, there are two different heating elements, one at the top of the tank and one near the bottom. If one malfunctions, you’ll get lukewarm water. If both fail, you’ll get cold water. You’ll need a plumbing professional to replace the heating elements to enjoy warm water again.
Another issue you may experience is leaking around its tank. The leak may, sometimes, be from one of the inlet or outlet water supply lines. In other cases, the safety pressure valve may have a slight leak. If water pools around the bottom of your tank, corrosion has likely created a hole.
