Plantation Drain Repair Services
Often, a drain will give you signs of a problem long before there’s a serious clog or other issue. That can include foul smells or the drain draining a bit slower than usual. You can attempt plunging the drain, but you should be careful; plunging with too much force or for an extended period can actually do more harm than help. You should never resort to chemical cleaners found at your local shops since those can and often do undermine the plumbing.
If you have a problem with one sink, tub, or shower, it’s likely limited to that drain. Perhaps grease or hair has built up in the drain over time. You may also experience drain problems that are due to a blockage much deeper in the system, such as the sewer. In these cases, you’ll often experience multiple drains that are slow and possibly give off bad smells. You may also notice problems with your toilets. They can make unusual noises. The water levels may go up and down, and you may find yourself flushing multiple times.
What we usually recommend as a first step is a camera inspection. These systems have a high-definition camera on the end of a cable that we can snake through your system. We’ll be able to see the problem on a monitor. If it’s local, we’ll see the grease or foreign object in the drain. If the problem is deeper, we’ll see the problem with the sewer. That can be grease or foreign objects as well. It can also be invasive tree roots or corrosion of the pipes.
In most cases involving clogs, we can clear the blockage by snaking it. If the plumbing has become compromised, we can replace the failed parts, such as under the sink. Water jetting is also an option for substantial blockages.
Hydro jetting, in particular, is very effective for sewer line blockages. This is where we thread a hose into the sewer line. It’s attached to a machine that pressurizes the water. The hose has a specialized head that allows our plumber to direct the stream using a monitor. It’s powerful enough to remove even tree roots that have been growing in the plumbing for many years. This is a preferable approach because it eliminates the need for excavation. Even if there’s pipe damage, there are other trenchless options, such as pipe relining.
